Woman up

Sounds strange? Obviously, it does. Because we have never come across to this phrase, or maybe so less that we don’t even know when we heard it the last time.

As a society, we are conditioned right from the time we are born. It takes us an entire lifetime to unlearn so many aspects and thinking. It becomes so tiring and exhausting, especially if you are the less appreciated gender i. e the woman.

When a girl is born in certain areas of our country, she is either looked down upon or is thought of merely as a burden. Please do not get me wrong, I know a lot of us are privileged enough to be born in families where our birth was celebrated but I am talking about the major part where that is not the case.

Parents are more concerned about the colour of their daughter’s skin, her height, her hair, her appearance rather than her thoughts, her mentality, her dreams and even her aspirations.

They are more concerned about who will marry her or how much they will have to pay in her dowry rather than what she wants to become when she will grow up.

And to top that, our society as a whole makes sure that she self-doubts herself, is paid less, called names, judged and worse, maybe would never be good enough!!

All of us must have heard people around us telling each other to MAN UP when they are feeling demotivated or low. But why?

Have you ever thought about that? Well, that is because we have established the fact that TO MAN UP is a symbol of being up to the mark. No, I do not have any problem with it. We all can certainly MAN UP.

But don’t you think, a woman who works tirelessly as a robot right from the moment she is born to the time she dies because she is expected to, a woman who handles herself, her family, her office, is juggling with her dreams and children with a smile on her face, don’t you think that’s the level of motivation we all need in life?

So, to everyone out there who is feeling low, dejected, upset or demotivated, whoever you are….just WOMAN UP!!!!

Because we all need the frequency and energy a woman carries in her with so much grace. So, let’s try and attempt to celebrate Women as much as we have celebrated Men since the beginning of time. Because whether you agree or not, you believe in it in your heart and that smile on your face is saying that loud!!!
